Knowing how to select plants for the conditions can help increase success. \nYou’ll learn: \n\nUnderstanding how temperatures\, winds\, and other factors can affect plant success\nUsing regionally appropriate seed and plants\nPlanting tips for our region\n\nWhat to bring?  Your questions and something to take notes with! \nAbout the Speaker: Anita Thompson is the farmer and owner of Double T Bar Farm in Taylor\, Arizona.  She grows heirloom and open-pollinated seeds\, herbs for culinary and medicinal use\, and is dabbling in flowers/native plants.  She also distills essential oils and hydrosols on the farm.  As a military veteran\, she is a proud member of the Farmer Veteran Coalition.  She works for the University of Arizona in small-scale farmer/rancher education\, works with small ruminant producers\, and teaches “Agriculture 102” for military veterans in conjunction with the non-profit The Land at Home Project. \nFee: Free for Garden Members (Friends of the Garden\, Gardeners\, Stewards). $5 donation for non-members. \n\nRegister Today!\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Bring your friends and neighbors and support the community garden (and meet other successful gardeners)!  \n You will: \n\nStart at the GROWtogether HOCRN Community Garden to receive your map and an entrance pass. (Behind Mountain Meadows Elementary School)\nTravel to each home/garden to enjoy the gardens and learn from the various gardeners.\nYou will see a wide variety of plantings and techniques.\nSelf-paced; spend your time where you’re most interested.\nSee what experienced gardeners are growing in H/O\, and how they do it.\n\nAbout our Gardens:   We have all kinds of gardens for you to see! Vegetables\, flowers\, orchards\, berries\, grapes\, and lots of different techniques (including greenhouses\, in-ground gardening\, grow beds\, grow towers\, etc.).
