About the Speakers: Kayla McKernan has been a Mogollon Rim native for over 35 years. Since childhood, she’s had a profound love for our forest and lakes thanks to grandparents who have been here since the 1960s. Her life is about gardening and providing a natural life for my family. However, her passion is outdoor adventure and turning those adventures into beneficial substances for daily living. These adventures have occurred for over 20 years and always include a foraging trip across the Mogollon Rim area. Throughout these years, she has gained knowledge about the native plants and the benefits these plants provide. Josh Sotelo is a Mogollon Rim native for over 40 years. He also profoundly loves our forests throughout the Mogollon Rim, which he started exploring with my father in the late 1980s. Both Kayla and Josh have been foraging and exploring our forests for 20 years, gaining knowledge in our area and its many benefits.
