Pop-Up Class: Hands-On Soil Blocking
March 7 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Date: Saturday, March 7, 2026
Time: 1:00 – 2:30 PM
Location: Will be provided upon registration. Limit of 8 attendees (Garden Members Only at Pop-Up Events).
In this hands-on class, you’ll create soil blocks for seed starting. This simple, low-cost method produces strong, resilient seedlings without the need for pots. Avoid plastics and encourage air pruning for successful transplants.
What You’ll Learn
- Use soil blockers to make seed-starting blocks for the GROWtogether garden and for your own, if you’d like.
- Get some practice, and I’ll guide you in building your soil-blocking skills.
- See my seed-starting setup and learn how I care for the blocked seedlings.
- Make your own soil blocks to bring home, please bring a bag of your favorite potting soil (or contact host for suggestions -she will contact participants with ideas as well), and a solid like a 10″ x 20″ plant tray to carry them on.
Your Pop-up Class Hosts:
- Katy Neild
